In this review, I’ll be taking a look at the 3- inch Gel Infused Memory Foam mattress topper from Linenspa . I personally tested this topper, so I’ll be going over how I thought it felt and who I think it’ll be best suited for, as well as what it’s made of.

As with any purchase, there is a lot to consider before choosing a mattress topper, such as your sleeping position, body weight , budget, and so on. Here are my recommendations for who should consider this Linenspa topper.

This topper is fairly simple, made from a solid block of polyurethane memory foam with gel beads. I reviewed the 3-inch topper , but there is also a Linenspa 2 – inch Gel Infused Memory Foam mattress topper . The 2-inch version won’t offer as much room to sink in.

Memory foam naturally traps a lot of heat, but cooling gel beads help to draw heat away from the body and redistribute it throughout the topper. I found this topper stayed temperature neutral, meaning the gel didn’t make it feel cool to the touch, but did help prevent the foam from overheating .

Additionally, the foam used in this topper is CertiPUR-US certified to be free from harmful chemicals and pollutants.

I tested this topper out by laying on it in different positions and trying it on mattresses of different firmness levels. 

Overall, I found the Linenspa mattress topper to have a super cushy feel. It was very easy to sink into, which allows for lots of cushioning on pressure points like shoulders and hips. 

Now, one of the main purposes of getting a mattress topper is to change up your current bed. To get a better sense of how this topper would affect mattress feel , I tested it with three different mattresses.

Soft: I found that adding this topper to a soft mattress made it extremely doughy and for most people’s taste, probably too soft. However, if you have serious hip or shoulder pain, this could be a good option if your already-soft mattress isn’t providing enough pressure relief. Still, adding this squishy topper to a soft mattress did make it more difficult to move around on the bed.

Medium-firm: Adding the Linenspa topper to a medium- firm mattress gave it a medium to medium-soft feel. This topper is very cushioning , so it allowed for much more pressure relief and contouring than the medium- firm mattress alone. I think this would be an especially good option for side sleepers who need a bit more pressure relief from their bed.

Firm: When I tested the Linenspa topper with a firm mattress , I thought it gave it a more medium-firm feel. The topper is moderately thick, with a 3-inch profile , so I had some room to sink in and get some body contouring from the foam, but the firm mattress below still provided support. I think this would work best for many back sleepers , especially those with lower back pain who need some cushioning in the lumbar region.

I think the Linenspa 3 – inch Gel Infused Memory Foam topper is a great value buy. It’s a basic topper, without any bells and whistles, but it works well for adding a layer of comfort and cushioning to your mattress. I found it to be comfortable for both back and side sleepers, but I wouldn’t recommend it to stomach sleepers , as it will only make their sleep surface too soft. 

The gel infusions also help to keep the topper temperature neutral, by dissipating body heat . However, I would still say this topper doesn’t sleep extremely cool, as it doesn’t allow for much airflow or ventilation, nor does it have a cool-to-the-touch feel. I’d recommend super hot sleepers take a look at our best cooling mattress toppers .

Overall, I think the Linenspa topper is a good option to bring new life and comfort to an old mattress on a budget.
